[Tailscale](https://tailscale.com) is a mesh VPN which I use to connect all my devices together. Before, this was purely for personal devices, but now, I have servers hooked up as well.

It is highly versatile and free for many personal use cases. The same product which allows me to access my Windows remote desktop also lets me create [private, self-hosted applications](https://headscale.net/stable/), like my [[Actual]] instance.

There is an self-hostable open source variant, [Headscale](https://headscale.net/stable/), which is compatible with Tailscale clients.
